(NEW) UNUSED VINTAGE BEADED BLACK MILOR EVENING BAG: THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST EVENING BAGS WE'VE EVER SEEN

A few years ago, we bought a box of accessories from a store that was going out of business. Many of the purses in the box were already vintage. The owner had put them away either for investment purposes, or because she liked looking at them. When the store when out of business, we were fortunate enough to buy a few of the boxes of the accessories.

This wonderful evening bag was inside one of the boxes. It's from a company called Milor, and we did some research to discover this company was in business during the 1950s. (We couldn't find any info before or after that). The Milor company was actually a company which produced fully beaded belts for evening wear, and we discovered that Milor evening bags are quite rare and are collector's items. However, regardless of that information, the purse is absolutely exquisite.

The purse is intricately beaded and embroidered on a background of black velvet. The beads are pewter and silver colored. What's so incredibly attractive is the way the beads are applied to catch the light. The beads are mostly bugle beads applied horizontally - usually we see bugle beads going vertically in an application like this, or more than likely seed beads would have been used. Add to this the metallic embroidery, and this evening bag looks incredibly expensive and probably was. It's perfect for a wedding, or something as special as New Year's Eve, or a special partY or event. It's very elegant and every beautiful.

It has a dark pewter chain, which might actually be silver. The chain matches the coloring in the beadwork perfectly. We'll try to run it by the jewler's, if we get a chance. Feel free to email for the results. We can't tell if it's dark pewter or if it might be real silver that has evenly darkened from age.

This evening bag measures 6 1/2 inches in width by 5 inches in height. It measures 2 inches in depth. It's shaped like a box, and will be able to more than you'd expect. It's lined in a black satin.

This purse is beautiful. You're sure to be noticed when you carry it.
